What did we start with in 2002 ?

The building came on the market when an owner died. It was in terrible condition as you can see from these pictures. Inspection indicated that it was basically sound structurally, but it had to be stripped inside ,and the rear end was not plum and square. It needed a new foundation under the rear. The wiring, heating, and plumbing all had to be stripped out and replaced.

It was a big job. we proceeded with good contractors on a time and material basis with close supervision by a good general contractor and archectect.

As these projects involving old buildings all seem to do it went over budget as hidden problems were uncovered.

An oil tank was removed. Although the enviromental people who had examined it before purchase said there was no leak, there was a small amoung of seepage in the pit that involved some "clean up" before we could put in a paved parking lot.

With Chris Pickel as the architect the building won the 2002 planning award from the County.
